One is in a relatively stable condition, while the other is seriously injured. He was in a grade-three coma when he was sent to the hospital and is still recovering from treatment. The accident has aroused great concern both inside and outside the industry.
In August, the accident investigation team announced the results, believing that the steel cable that fell down the big screen that night broke due to "metal fatigue". Preliminary investigations revealed that one of the cables suspending the LED screen broke, and the eye screw of the other cable broke, causing the screen to fall.
On November 11, the Hong Kong police disclosed the details of the crash of the screen at the Hong Kong Red Pavilion. The investigation found that "Yineng Engineering Co., Ltd." ("Yineng"), the general contractor responsible for the concert project, and "Xiexinglong Stage Engineering Co., Ltd." measures to ensure that the stage installations reach a certain level of safety and quality. The former is also suspected of falsely reporting the actual weight of the installation in order to obtain performance permission as soon as possible. Five people involved in the construction of the project were arrested on charges of "fraud" and "allowing an object to fall from a height".
In fact, during the construction of LED large screens, there have been many large screen collapse accidents caused by factors such as improper construction and unreasonable construction structures in recent years. These safety accidents are worthy of deep consideration in the industry. For this reason, relevant departments in China are also constantly strengthening and standardizing the construction safety system in subdivided fields including LED project construction. LED display engineering installation and construction personnel are generally composed of certified design engineers, project managers, senior technicians, construction personnel and manufacturer technical personnel.
