In recent years, the state has issued a series of LED lighting industry plans and policies aimed at optimizing the industrial development environment, promoting technology research and development and innovation, clarifying lighting design standards and technical requirements, regulating the development of the LED lighting industry, and effectively promoting the health and Orderly and rapid development. In 2019, industry design standards such as “Architectural Lighting Design Standards (Draft for Comments)”, “Technical Guidelines for the Design and Construction of Road Tunnel LED Lighting”, “Technical Requirements for LED Night Scene Lighting Applications (Draft for Comments)” and other industry design standards were issued to standardize the actual industry Application is conducive to the development of industry standards.
According to China SOLED STATE LIGHTING ALLIANCE (“CSA”) data, China’s domestic LED lighting product output continued to grow from 2016 to 2018, and the output in 2018 was about 13.5 billion pieces (sets). Domestic lighting The product production and sales rate is relatively stable, initially estimated to be 46% in 2019, output growth of 17.6 billion units/set, and sales of 8.1 billion units/set.
LED general lighting dominates, entering a mature period
After years of development and improvement, my country’s LED lighting application market has gradually become stable and mature. At present, my country’s LED lighting application market includes general lighting, landscape lighting, automotive lighting, backlight applications, signals and instructions, display screens, etc.
According to CSA statistics, the structure of my country’s LED lighting application market remained stable from 2016 to 2018. The downstream LED applications in China are still dominated by LED lighting, accounting for 46%; display and landscape applications accounted for more than 10%; backlight applications accounted for more than 10% fluctuations; automotive lighting accounted for more than 1% , Accounted for relatively small, but the room for growth is larger.
In the general lighting application market, my country’s LED general lighting output scale continued to grow from 2014 to 2019, but the growth rate continued to decline. In 2018, the output value of my country’s LED general lighting reached 267.9 billion yuan, an increase of 5% year-on-year; it is preliminary estimated that the output value of my country’s LED general lighting in 2019 will increase by 4.5% year-on-year to 280 billion yuan.
In the field of landscape lighting applications, the output value of LED landscape lighting from 2014 to 2019 also continued to grow, reaching 100.7 billion yuan in 2018, an increase of 26.1% year-on-year. Calculated at a compound growth rate, it is preliminary estimated that the output value of LED landscape lighting in 2019 will reach 127 billion yuan. .
The domestic penetration rate of LED lighting continues to grow, while exports decline
From the perspective of the domestic and foreign sales of LED lighting products, the domestic market penetration rate of LED lighting products in China, that is, the ratio of the domestic sales volume of LED lighting products to the total domestic sales volume of lighting products, continues to rise, reaching 70% in 2018, and preliminary estimates are 78 in 2019 %.
In terms of exports, as far as the LED industry is concerned, my country is currently the world’s largest producer and exporter of LED lighting products. The dependence on lighting exports exceeds 50%. Affected by the Sino-US trade war, my country’s LED industry is greatly affected. The export volume and export value of my country’s LED lighting products (light-emitting diode (LED) bulb (tube) tariff code 85395000) have been declining. In 2019, they were 5.831 billion pieces/set and 5.403 billion US dollars, down 16.36% and 4.82% year-on-year. Affected by the global new crown pneumonia, since February 2020, the export value of LED lighting products has continued to decline. In the first three months of 2020, China’s LED lighting product exports reached 1.102 billion pieces/set and 878 million US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 19.84 % And 29.50%.
In terms of imports, the number and value of my country’s imported LED lighting products continued to decline from 2017 to 2019. In 2019, it was only 13 million units/set and 32 million U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 99.32% and 69.52%, a significant decrease.
The overall import and export of LED products in my country showed a trade surplus. In 2019, the trade surplus reached 5.371 billion yuan, which was slightly reduced. Affected by the epidemic in the first quarter of 2020, the trade surplus fell sharply, reaching 871 million yuan.
